Camouflage your flaws and Highlight your Assets

There are 3 aspects to camouflaging successfully
1 Draw attention to something else
2 Divide
3 Bulk it up.

We only see our flaws in comparison with what we see in the media- So we decide we have flaws

If you ask any woman what things about her body she wants to hide, she will not even take a breath before relating all her flaws, on the other hand, ask her, what are her assets? She either thinks she hasn't got any or takes some time to tell you what they are. We decide we have flaws because we compare our bodies to those we see in the media, movies, magazines etc. Most of the time, these people we see have dieticians, personal trainers and stylist, working for them.
Then their photos are taken through special lenses and when the photo is finished it is air brushed. So the end result is not real, it may as well have been computer generated.  By comparing our bodies to these unreal bodies, we only see our flaws in comparison. Despite knowing this we continue to do this.-How do we stop!

First, we must make our so called flaws seem insignificant by camouflaging them.

Firstly if you draw attention to your assets your flaws will fade away. For example, let us say you have large hips and yet a beautiful neck, by  decorating your neck and draw attention to it, then that is where the focus will be. Then, if you make sure that the hem of your skirt or the hem of your pants appears wider than your hips, people’s eyes will skim over your hips. At the same time, divide, by having a line on your pants or a skirt with paneling, to divide the width between your hips so, that area appears smaller.
If on the other hand, you want something to appear bigger than what it is, for instance your breasts, bulk up the area with detail like pockets or draping fabric.
Let me give you a few more camouflage tricks, look over on the right hand side.
The details are discussed and shown in our ' What to Wear' Workshops:
